Literary Contests Indexes These list more than just poetry contests. They are the most complete free resource of their kind on the Web—with over 1,400 indexed contests, writing fellowships and writing grants! They include poetry contests, fiction contests, nonfiction contests, essay contests, book publication contests, book awards, hypertext writing contests, writing contests offered by genre publishers and more.



The Publishers indexes feature links to and features links to over 1,400 publications and dozens more imprints. They include: a book publisher index; a magazine publishers, journal publishers and anthology publishers index; and an e-Zine publishers index.

There is even a section for genre publishers of speculative fiction, including science fiction, horror, fantasy—and you will find listings for historical fiction and others as well.

Though scholarly publications by academic presses are listed here as well, the primary focus in including them was the listing of oportunities for publication of translation.



The Writer Development resources contain hundreds of links to such diverse assets as online critique groups, creative writing courses and writing workshops, educational facilities such as writers centers and organizations to community college, college and university creative writing programs—and Employment Opportunities & Selcted Services for Writers.



Poet and Writers' Festivals, Retreats and Conferences This new section is a work in progress. We make an effort to update it at least once each month and keep it current, so come back periodically to check on its progress.

It provides links to assets as diverse as poetry festivals, writers' festivals, poetry retreats, writers' retreats and conferences to book festivals—in the United States and internationally.
