Art With Words

PUBLICATION CLASS: MAINSTREAM

GUIDELINES: Published: Each quarter, the months of March, June, September, and December. The first issue will go to print March 2005. We are starting out small but, have hopes of reaching all poets that are looking for a progressive outlet for their poetry. Send all inquiries about subscriptions to djharmeskurth at hotmail.com

Contents: Poetry by our readers and subscribers, letters to the editor, an education section, creativity column, contest announcements, a spot-light on our subcribers, a Quarterly Adventure in Writing. This is a section where the editor will ask readers to stretch their imagination and creative abilities to write on a specific topic. Readers may also send in suggestions on topic ideas for this column.

Restrictions: Subscribers and those submitting their work must have a mailing address within the United States. Poetry must be original and fresh, tired clichés and formula poetry will not be accepted. Formal forms and rhyming poetry will be welcomed, identify formal forms. Please do not send graphics with your poetry, if graphics are included the work will not be considered.

Requirements: All poetry submitted must be the original work of the writer, with a brief bio. include. If a poem has been previously published send information on when and where so that we can credit that publication. Please send one poem per 8 x 11 sheet of white paper, preferably typed, but if hand written it must be very easy to read. If you would like the copies of your poems returned to you send a SASE with proper postage attached, if proper postage is not attached, poetry will not be returned. You do not need to be a subscriber to submit your poetry or enter any of the contests offered, however we will not send out free quarterlies at this time, that would be cost prohibitive. Subscribers may send their submissions via email, if they are included within the body of the email and not as an attachment, attachments will not be opened! Subscribers will receive information on where to send their email submissions.

Contests: Each quarter we will announce a quarterly contest. For information and a printed list, email me with your mailing information at djharmeskurth at hotmail.com and make sure to put ArtWithWords on the subject line.

Our Purpose: To share the magic carried within the well placed word used in the creation of poetry, and to give even the novice writer a chance to see their work in print. My goal in this quarterly is to have a publication that embraces all types of poetry. A quarterly that is both reader and writer friendly; by this I mean, a publication that the reader will enjoy, and that the writer will feel comfortable submitting their work to. We are welcoming fresh, imaginative poetry.

Please see the blog for addition information, or contact me directly at djharmeskurth at hotmail.com
Our first issue went out today, and we are getting new subscriptions daily.
