Brevity
A journal of concise literary non-fiction. 750 words or less.
Submissions - Brevity will not be reading or
accepting submissions again until September 2004, using the guidelines
below:
- 750 words or less, no exceptions.
- Clean, clear, vivid prose. We prefer scene and action, detail and
color, over your thoughts, opinions, exposition, or lecture.
- Read the essays in our latest few issues to get a sense of what
we are looking for.
- No more than two submissions per author per calendar year.
- We have filled the FALL 2004 issue and much of SPRING 2005, so we
are reading ahead into late next year and the following year. As a
result, our readers have become quite selective. Send us only your best
work.
