Babel

A multilingual, multicultural online journal and community of arts and ideas, founded on the premis that "The conspiracies and machinations of a ruling elite are as old as mankind. The rules for implementing and sustaining the power structure are ancient and have not changed. The basic rules used against us are: 1) Keep the people in fear of losing their protection from unspeakable evils; 2) Keep the people afraid of each other so they won't want to join together in vast numbers by accentuating the ridiculously reactionary and seemingly pejorative differences between race, religion, sect, class, gender, s _ xual orientation, age, language, culture, or whatever other differences can be manipulated to help divide people rather than unite them. Confuse their minds and tongues and make them misunderstand each other. Keep them out of heaven at all costs; 3) Create conflict so that the powers that govern can be seen to solve the conflict, thus keeping people submissive; 4) Isolate and destroy any independent thinkers; and 5) Always deny the truth. . . . 'What good fortune for those in power that people do not think.'-- Adolf Hitler"
