“I just don’t get it!”
Ever find yourself saying that? Most of us have. Maybe you said it in calculus class or when you tried in vain to set the clock on your VCR. Chances are you say it whenever you read contemporary poetry. The work of the award-winning poets of our day makes you feel like a dummy because all you get from it are the sorry efforts of creative-writing-department navel-gazers. You just don’t get it!
Neither do we
— and we publish poetry. Time Being Books takes a
different approach. Rather
than contend with today’s
academy- and
foundation-funded nonsense,
we decided to publish poetry
that is readable, that a
literate audience can enjoy
without highly specialized
training — poetry that tells
a story.
