About Using the Indexes

The literary competitions are indexed by genre, and by the month for the contest deadline in the list that appears in the i-frame to the left. The links to the monthly indexes will open that indexed contest list in the left-hand i-frame.

The links for each indexed contest will open a brief description of that listing in this frame.

The links associated with each listing will open the sponsor's contest page in a new browser window.

Individual contests that are one of several contests offered by the same sponsor are listed under the sponsor's name. If you are looking for a contest by name, use the site search. In most instances, contests with a single unique name in the contest name will require using only that single unique name.

Awards for translations are indexed under the Book Awards category—If you are interested specifically in awards restricted to persons who fit into a particular ethnic, religious, gender or other category, we suggest using the site search.

If you are looking for a contest by name, we suggest that you use the site search engine provided above.

Information Reliability Issues—We cannot possibly keep this index up to date without input, and you can help keep this information online and free. If you have any problems with this index or some input that you think will help improve our resources pages, please contact the email link-gif for pita dot webmaster at poetryinarts dot org.

Some sites change the location of their contest pages as often as most people change their mind. Please let us know if you get a 404 error (page not found) when you use this index.

Most contest sponsors lose money on their contests, and discontinue them or make big changes to them when they get tired of losing money. Please let us know about this too.

The exact deadline dates for some contests will vary from year to year. Please let us know if you find a contest that has been significantly rescheduled.

Netscape browser users—may need to click the [Reload] link above the categories i-frame to reload the categories page in its i-frame. IE users should be able to navigate between pages in the i-frames below by using their browser's navigation features.
